What changed in 2026
From 1 April 2026, STT on futures rose from 0.02% to 0.05% of the sell value, and STT on options rose from 0.10% to 0.15% of the sell-side premium. Active F&O traders pay these on every trade, win or lose.
Why breakeven matters
Charges are paid whether a trade wins or loses. The more often you trade, the larger the move you need before any trade makes money.
